Tulip bulbs planted by first grade botanists!

First graders at Glastonbury-E. Hartford Magnet School planted Red Emperor Tulips as part of an International Journey North seasonal study of springtime plant emergence. Every first grader planted a tulip bulb outside our new school and planetarium building. In addition, each student measured, weighed and dissected a bulb to compare and identify parts of the bulb that will grow into a red tulip sometime in the spring. Students also brought home an extra bulb to plant near their home.
