Life Cycle/Product Cycle: What happens to my left-over food and packaging?

Third graders wonder if the left-over pieces of their snack will change over time? This experiment includes any wrappers around the snack and the plastic bag itself! Students added a scoop of soil to cover the snack and they are now eager to record any changes they notice in their science notebooks. Will we see those green beans, orange peels, plastic or tinfoil in the bags next week? Ask the grade three scientists to give you a decomposition update!
