Butterflies and Kids in Space!

Students get the "chance of a lifetime" to talk directly to astronaut Jeff Williams aboard the International Space Space!

Students from Suffield, E. Hartford and Glastonbury listen to Commander Williams talk about water recycling, butterflies and living in the space station.

Additional questions are answered by our friend from NASA, Mr. Rick Varner!

We meet other students from Connecticut who are excited about science, animals, people and space!

EHGEMS and Suffield students are in the news:

Our EGHGEMS fifth graders will travel to the New England Air Museum to participate with other students from Suffield, CT in a special Downlink with astronauts aboard the International Space Station. Students will be able to ask questions about experimenting and living in space directly , in real-time, with Commander Jeff Williams.

Students will also have the opportunity to participate in special events throughout the museum that help children understand more about space flight, exploration and living and working in space.

We would like to thank the wonderful folks at NASA, the New England Air Museum, Hamilton Sundstrand, Suffield Public Schools and EHGEMS for helping to make this “once in a lifetime” opportunity available to our children!

The New England Air Museum is open to the public on Dec. 15th and adults may pay admission to the museum ($10)  and observe the program from special viewing locations.
